MRE Meals Ready To Eat
Meals
Ready to Eat are packed in small pouches or often boxs. They can be purchased
with or without heaters. The heaters are placed into the box or pouch after
being activated by following simple instructions on the heater. These heat meals
before eating. There are several types of MRE meals, from full meals, deserts
and other dishes. They can usually be purchased individually or in bulk cases.

2 hour kits provide the basics for survival after a disaster.
These often include a backpack or duffle bag to hold the supplies which makes
evacuation easier. Some kits are packed in buckets and may include a toilet seat
that can be fitted on top of the bucket to be used as a portable toilet if
needed. Note: these kits often provide survival food rations in the form of food
bars. If you want more conventional meals (something that is very nice and eases
stress) you may also want to purchase MRE meals or other food supplies at your local

Emergency Food bars generally come in 2400 or 3600 calorie packages. The bars are usually me to be broken into sections making 400 calorie meals.
Should say USCG approved or Meets U.S. Coast Guard standards, meaning, they provide the USCG required amounts of moisture, salt, carbohydrate, protein, and fat.
A shelf life should be given (usually 5 years). The expiration date is also very important, the expiration date can be up to 5 years for many ration bars.
